The screencast was a bit tricky. I tried Camstudio and while recording I couldn't get the recording screen to go away. I ended up using Screencast-o-matic with great success. I liked using Google the best for searching for videos. Although, most of the videos I found were posted on You Tube I was amazed at how many videos there are out there. I joined Facebook last summer and I have to admit I am on Facebook daily. I have reconnected with friends from high school and college. I created a Texas Regions video using Animoto and exported it to You Tube. I tried Teacher Tube first but I couldn't save a short-length video from Animoto...you have to upgrade to a full length video. Uploading the video was very easy and straight forward. I first heard about Open Office at a technology meeting. I was very excited to learn it was on our new laptops. I played around with it a little before the end of the year....it is so easy to use. Del.cio.us is a great resource. Now I have access to my favorites no matter which computer I happen to be using. I love these online image generators. I used some of these this year with my Activboard and they were awesome. I could definitely see my kids getting a kick out of these. The visual poetry from Imagechef will be perfect when we study concrete poems. I have never been able to find a way for students to create a concrete poem using the computer. One draw back is their shape choices are limited.
